Playing With Fire

Another fun aspect of camping, if you do it right, is the lack of electricity.  Being ever the woods woman, I brought my iPod to entertain everyone with sounds beyond the crickets and other creatures making noises in the night.  It’s a small deviation from “roughing it” because you can already see the pains with which Shari make her coffee (read post).

As part of our overnight adventure, we cooked on a fire and we used flashlights (we had two for four people), so we made use of the many candles (some scented) that Shari brought.  Since we were lacking candle holders, I did what any enterprising young woman would do, I cut up soda cans.  Yessiree, we were roughing it alright.

The candles on Sarahs birthday cake are lit. Good cake, too.

And this is our lovely fire and light show present to you from our camping/beach trip last week.  Stay tuned for one more post about the oddities we encountered along the way.

  1. Lovely votives, seriously! I wouldn’t have thought of using the cans for that! I would have probably tried to prove how tough I think I am by crushing them against my forehead!
