Jo-Bros Committed to Purity

jo brosBy Amy Sondova A couple years ago the Jonas Brothers exploded onto the Disney Channel with a music video for “Year 3000.” Subsequent hits like “S.O.S.” have made ‘tween girls everywhere swoon with girlish delight and pictures of the three Jo-Bros are plastered all over the media. I took the Jonas Brothers as just another boy band.

And in some ways they are—three cute guys writing pop songs and rocking some hot dance moves, but the Jonas brothers have been very open about their faith in God and their commitment to purity. Kevin, Joe, and Nick all wear purity rings on their left ring finger (don’t worry, girls; they’re not married…yet). According to Papa Jonas, the boys each pledged to remain pure for the marriage bed (full story). That’s a pretty remarkable commitment for a trio of young guys in the limelight.

While other stars like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson have made similar “commitments”, I tend to think the Jonas Brothers really mean it. Their supportive family and Christian upbringing speak volumes into the lives of these young men, who seem like goofy, well-adjusted boys who like to rock out. They just happen to very successful as they do it.
