{Closed} Splash Into Summer Giveaway Hop [5/25-5/31]

Welcome to another exciting giveaway hop hosted by the fine ladies at I’m A Reader, Not a Writer and Page Turners Blog.  I’m the second last stop on the hop, which frankly, I find sort of exciting.  Since you made it through the entire hop, I’m going to make the giveaway process incredibly simple.  It is as follows:

1. Comment below with insincere flattery–the more insincere the better.

2.  Read every post I ever wrote on Backseat Writer, leaving a comment on each and every one.  If it’s a controversial post, make sure you agree with me for +1000 extra entries.

3.  Follow me on all social networks , ALL OF THEM!!! And Tweet, “I love BackseatWriter.com. I wish I was like @artsybookishgal because…” and insert something insincerely flattering!  Mean entries will not be accepted.  (Tweet this 10X.  It can be in a row.  If you want to spam your friends, go ahead.)

4. Jump up and down five times, while rubbing your tummy, patting your head, and singing about Backseat Writer to the tune of a Lady Gaga song.  Alternatively, you can construct a puppet theater and put on a 3-5 minute play about Backseat Writer, which also must be videotaped.  Upload your video and share it with me.

5. Write a 200 (or more) word essay starting with the sentence, “Backseat Writer is my favorite site in all the world because…”

6. Make up a personal ad about me for potential date.  Ad must 100 words long and include TRUE and FLATTERING information about me (see “About Amy” tab for material.)  I need a date since I dumped “James.”

Or you can just fill out this form.

This one!

Right here.

Seriously, just fill out THE FORM.  All the other entries, including insincere comments, are appreciated, but they won’t get you any extra puntos in this giveaway (but they will make my day.) And, if you want to be super cool and show your appreciation, feel free to snoop around Backseat Writer or check out my baby book blog, Backseat Reader, which also has a giveaway going on-it could use some nurturing and followers.  Again, these are NOT extra entries.  You have to fill out THE FORMTHE FORM records all.

Oh, yeah, the prize!  Since you put up with all my shenanigans, the prize is– wait…for…it–your choice of $10 Amazon Gift Card or a $10 or under book of your choice to The Book Depository (because I love the international readers, too.)

Book of Choice (up to $10)

The giveaway is open to all, as long as you can receive Amazon gift cards and/or The Book Depository ships to your house.  You have until 11:59 PM EST on May 31 to enter by filling out THE FORM.  Remember, comments are appreciated, but THE FORM is the way to win!

Don’t forget to enter the other 300+ giveaways that are part of this book.  Click here for the full list of participants!

And, you can head over to Backseat Reader to enter my other giveaway!!!

  1. Aleetha, you’re welcome. Cool name, BTW.

Misha, am I sincerely or insincerely hilarious? 🙂 If you like this fun, check out my Friday faves. It’s chock full of hilarity.

Kua, haha! That’s great! Thanks for entering!

  2. You know, out of all the blogs I’ve read today, yours has GOT to be THE most AWESOME. I mean, there are just sooo many words on it and it looks just like Parchment paper. I mean…how did you even do that?!

It’s got to be the most remarkable thing I’ve ever seen.

And the way the banner incorporates the letters of the words I think best describes you and your blog: Really Nice Great Fantastic Blog.

I’ve read all your posts as well. They are superior. I mean they are SHAKESPEARIAN at BEST.

    Thanks for the giveaway

  3. Your blog is by far the best blog I have ever read. I literally swooned while reading your posts and my husband had to bring the smelling salts to revive me. Then he said, “You’ve been reading Backseat Writer again haven’t you?” And I replied, “Of course! Nothing makes me swoon except Backseat Writer.”

Now I must go get something to eat because I have spent so long (hours and hours) reading and commenting on every one of your posts and I am weak with hunger.

  4. Hmmm, Alyce, you might have to go leave all those comments again because they just didn’t show up. 🙂 You’re a funny gal!

  5. Your post made me laugh so hard. You managed to capture the complete ridiculousness of the hoops some bloggers make you jump through just to enter a contest. Thanks for the laugh!

  6. I actually did number 4. Seriously. My mom thought I was high. Lol
Thanks for the giveaway. Hope you have a lovely fun-filled summer.

  7. Veronika & Clarissa, see, the whole jump around thing encourages exercise because everyone’s just sitting by their computers entering giveaways. I’m doing a service for public health.

Senas, thanks you’re super cool, too!

Beth S, exactly what I was going for. 🙂

Brittany, AnneJude, & Krystal–Thanks for entering!

Marjorie, good job! I knew a smart gal like you could handle THE FORM. I was hoping that everyone would catch on to my subtly. *wink*

  8. Ok, so I came here via the Blog Hop, and after visiting so many of them, your requirements really made me laugh! I am not a writer, but I think I may stay following because of that!

  9. It’s super cool your post =) After seeing all these blogs for 2 days they all seem the same. No one stands out but yours did. Very funny…loved it! Thanks for the contest too

  10. Hey Kidd Ego (or Hey Kiddego or even heykiddoego)! Thanks for your subscription, but you don’t *HAVE* to subscribe to enter, but you get +1009 cool points if you do, which can be exchanged for prizes in a random gift shop somewhere in the USSR. Oh, wait, you say the USSR doesn’t exist anymore? Hmm…I guess they’re completely useless, but don’t you still feel cool? And you don’t HAVE to be the writer, I’m the writer and you’re the reader. At Backseat Reader, I’m still the writer, but I write about what I read and you can read posts about what I read. Geez, I’m feel confused…or heat stroke is setting in. My, this is a long comment.

Tanya, thank you! I appreciate your use of the term “super cool.” It’s one of my faves and I try to use it as much as possible. I like to stand out. At my college graduation, I’m the ONLY ONE who decorated my cap. It said “Live Out Loud.” I guess with a message like that you can stand alone. And loudly.

  11. Sarah, no problem. I sometimes forget when I enter giveaways…and enter twice because I can’t find my comment. I don’t think that’ll be a problem here. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  12. Thanks for the giveaway. I know we must be kindred spirits because the first thing I saw when I entered your blog was Josh Wilson. I’m a huge fan.

  13. Dawn, if you like Josh Wilson, then you need to check out ALL my Josh Wilson articles on Backseat Writer and comment on each and every one. OK, you don’t have to do that. Josh is an excellent musician and a great human being. 🙂 I’m glad you have good taste in music.

Mary, thanks. I think I can do better than a spammy mcspammer, too. I don’t think that Amy McSpammer has a nice ring to it, does it? 🙂

  14. Alicia, glad to make you laugh. I try to make laughter a weekly giveaway here at Backseat Writer. (I mean, I have to write those serious tear-jerker posts, too.)

Donna, you’re welcome! (My mom’s name is also Donna.) 🙂

  15. Thank you so much for the great giveaway and for making me laugh today !too funny I like simple entering!
