I thought about writing a St. Patrick’s Day post full of lots of Irish jargon, but that seemed like too much work. Besides, I already wrote this fantastic post “Being Irish, St. Patrick, and the elusive Shamrock Shake” which you are more than welcome to read.
So, instead Backseat Writer (stop #175) is joining with over 200 bookish bloggers to participate in the Lucky Leprechaun Giveaway Hop hosted by Books Complete Me and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer. Yes, we all know how I love a good giveaway, and now you have the chance to acquire one of my favorite books, Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis.
Till We Have Faces is a beautiful retelling of the Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche with a twist. The tale is told from the perspective of Psyche’s older, unattractive sister Orual, who struggles with her own self-image. The plot is woven together masterfully by Lewis, and is much different from his Narnia series and theological writings.
