UnWrapping Christmas with SkorInc’s Brody Harper

Brody Harper is one of the geniuses behind the web/marketing company, SkorInc.  SkorInc focuses on the music industry, and has “bled into art direction, photography, package design, social media management and anything else that we can handle. Sort of a digital Swiss Army Knife if you will,” says Brody.  So, why is Brody UnWrapping Christmas with Backseat Writer?  Because he’s hilarious and he’s a man “in the know,” so you definitely need to get to know Brody Harper.

Did you score any good deals on Black Friday?  Is it a day of great deals or terrifying chaos?

We’ve been dabbling in QR codes and the different ways to use them so naturally when I saw one on Best Buy’s Black Friday ad I scanned it and bought my boys a Wii from my living room. I don’t think I even went outside that day. My wife went out and saved a ton on gifts for the family. She’s better at crowds and all that.

Where are you spending Christmas this year…and what are you looking most forward to?

I think we are staying home. Most of our family is in California so it’s a pretty massive deal to make it out there. We try to get out there once or twice a year but this year we are just going to keep it mellow.

What was the best Christmas gift you ever received? (Don’t say “Jesus” because that’s a given!)

That’s a tough one. I’ve been given some amazing stuff, but one that jumps to mind right now is when my dad gave me his guitar. That was cool.

Describe one of the most hilarious Christmases.

Hmmm. I don’t know if I have a hilarious story. But thinking about it, and since you didn’t say I couldn’t say “Jesus” on this one, can you imagine that Christmas family story?  “Hey remember that Christmas when we showed up in town and had to sleep in the barn.  Then Jesus was born?  How crazy was that?”   Seems like a pretty awesome “family moment”.

What’s your fave Christmas song/Christmas movie or cartoon/Christmas cookie?

“O Holy Night.”  But the intense versions. I love it. “Elf” is pretty good, but I’d probably go with “It’s a Wonderful Life.”  Great story.  There’s a bad Christmas cookie?
