UnWrapping Christmas with musician/producer Jordan Critz

16 Dec

Nightlights and Melted Ice, Jordan Critz’s debut album, gave me thrills and chills.  Don’t let the fact that Jordan is a classically trained musician fool you—it makes him excellent an excellent composer and producer—but he can rock out with the best of them on his main instruments, guitar and piano (and vocals, of course).  Thank you, Jordan, for UnWrapping Christmas with us.  (Psst…you should pick up Nightlights and Melted Ice with your Christmas cash from Grandma. You will love it!)

Did you score any good deals on Black Friday?  Is it a day of great deals or terrifying chaos?

Terrifying chaos for sure! I try and stay far away from the stores on that day, especially Wal-Mart, after hearing about people being trampled!

Where are you spending Christmas this year…and what are you looking most forward to?

I’ll be spending Christmas in Carmel, California. My wife and I will be there for a wedding of some good friends of ours.

What was the best Christmas gift you ever received? (Don’t say “Jesus” because that’s a given!)

Well, that depends on what age I was at the time…… It pretty much went in order from Pound Puppies, to Cabbage Patch space men, to GI-Joes, to Lincoln Logs, to Legos to GPS systems to Golf Clubs, etc…. Hopefully I’ll one day get a jet-pack to fly around in.

Describe one of the most hilarious Christmases.

Hmm…….There have been so many that it’s hard to think of just one. I think it involved paper airplanes, Legos, and the fireplace

What’s your fave Christmas song/Christmas movie or cartoon/Christmas cookie?

Favorite Christmas song would have to be “O Holy Night.” The lyrics are extremely powerful and there aren’t many songs that are written that use every chord from the major scale (minus the dim 7th) and arranged in such a way that it flows perfectly. Cheers to whoever wrote that one!

Favorite Christmas movie – Scrooge

Favorite Christmas cookie – Sugar Cookies!

New Year’s resolution—yes or no? If yes, what is your resolution?

No New Years resolution for me…… it works better for me to not make them, but rather just set goals and make gradual changes to get there……….. But, there is one goal that I want to reach – venturing to space on the new Virgin Galactic Space Ship 2! It’s only $200,000….. Anyone want to sponsor me? I’ll bring you a souvenir!
