Since I bought my first Knifty Knitter back in the summer of 2004, I’ve made countless hats and scarves for friends and family (and even sold a few on occasion). A few months ago, I discovered that I can make socks and fingerless mittens on my loom (I haven’t tried fully intact mittens yet). This weekend I knitted my first dog sweater using a pattern I found at “Off the Loom” (pattern link). I modified the pattern a bit and made a sweater that didn’t quite work, I modified again, and–PRESTO!–we have doggie sweater magic! Here are pictures of my little shih tzu, Madalyne wearing her new sweater. (Cassie the peekapoo who hates wearing sweaters will be getting one, too.)
awesome “dancing with the bear” stance, maddie! now: need to go dig out the finding neverland soundtrack.
Pink is her color!
aww, so cute, and the sweater is too! lol I have a 10-11 pound lil’ girl shih Tzu ..got any tips for how to go about trying to duplicate your fab poochie sweater? Thanx so much for your blog/posting.
Lovely sweater, such a nice color, I like your pattern even more than the original one!
